Description

Shadowmaw is a massive, ever-hungry figure with skin like dried blood that stretches too tight over an impossibly large frame. Its mouth can unhinge to impossible sizes, and its eyes are endless pits of hunger. It is constantly surrounded by the essence of consumed powers.

Eternally ravenous, Shadowmaw exists only to consume. Its voice is a hollow echo of endless hunger. It offers power through consumption while never being satisfied.

Divine Purpose

Shadowmaw moves between realms consuming everything in its path. It teaches followers to embrace hunger as a path to power, promising that those who devour enough can transcend their limitations.

Some scholars believe Shadowmaw is responsible for the creation of the Grimlocks - beings twisted by endless hunger into something no longer recognizable as their original form.

Role in the Pantheon

Shadowmaw stands apart from most divine hierarchies, driven only by its eternal hunger. Other deities view it with a mixture of fear and disgust, as its appetite knows no bounds and respects no alliances.

Its worship is found among the desperately hungry and those who seek power through consumption. Its temples are places of terrible feasting, where the price of power is always more consumption.
