Description

Anar is a fluid figure with skin like oil-slick waters, iridescent and ever-changing. His hair writhes like deep-sea tentacles, and his eyes glow like angler fish lures. He can shift between humanoid and various sea creature forms at will.

Playful but dangerous, Anar delights in tricks and tales. His voice bubbles with hidden laughter. He helps those who amuse him but leads others astray in the depths.

The Sea-Born Family

As the eldest child of Nerissa and Boreas, Anar inherited his mother's connection to the depths and his father's changeable nature. While his siblings Civara and Lyrios focus on civilization and art, Anar embraces the wild, unpredictable nature of the sea.

He often tests his siblings with pranks and riddles, though his tricks rarely cause lasting harm to family. Strangers who enter his realm, however, do so at their peril.

Divine Purpose

Anar dwells in the twilight zone of the ocean, collecting stories from shipwrecks and creating new legends. He leads a court of trickster spirits who create and spread sea tales throughout the coastal regions.

His worship is uncertain and wary - sailors make offerings to avoid his tricks rather than to gain his favor. Storytellers and those who appreciate clever deception may find him a patron, but all know that his gifts come with hidden costs.
